Ex Libris opens on Regenstein's 1st Floor

The café opened to users for a few hours on Sunday, January 8, in advance of the official opening.

The University of Chicago Library and the Office of the Reynolds Club and Student Activities are pleased to announce the re-opening on Monday, January 9 of Ex Libris, the student-run coffee shop in Regenstein.  

Now located in a beautiful and purpose-built room with numerous windows in the northeast corner of the 1st floor of Regenstein, the café provides a welcoming space that can comfortably seat 75 users. Faculty, students and staff who wish to take a break from their work in Regenstein can now enjoy access to food and beverage services at reasonable prices in an attractive space.

Ex Libris’ menu includes fresh panini, cold sandwiches, salads, sushi, assorted pastries, desserts, candy and snacks, in addition to a full coffee and espresso bar with a loose leaf tea service.

When Ex Libris is closed, the room will remain open as a space to take a break to eat and drink during all the hours Regenstein is open.  Vending machines are also available in the space.

 

During the academic quarters, the café will be open:

Monday – Thursday 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 p.m.
Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Saturday 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Sunday 11:00 a.m. – 11:30 p.m.

During interims and summer quarter, the café will be open:

Monday – Friday 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
