NIH enforcing Public Access Policy compliance

Dr. Sally Rockey, Deputy Director for Extramural Research at the NIH, has stated that the NIH is going to be tougher on those whose papers are not in compliance with the the 2008 Public Access Policy.  In the Nov. 16 post on her blog, Rock Talk, Dr. Rockey says, “Thus, as of spring 2013 at the earliest, we will begin to hold processing of non-competing continuation awards if publications arising from grant awards are not in compliance with the public access policy.”

Information about the Public Access Policy, including tools to assist with compliance, such as a PMID-PMCID Converter, is available at http://www.lib.uchicago.edu/e/crerar/using/reference/nih.html.  Questions?  Ask a Librarian.
