Do not respond to fake emails about a new library system

Some members of the University community have recently received fake emails claiming that a problem with a new library system requires users to reactivate their Library accounts.  These emails were not sent by the University of Chicago Library.  They are part of a phishing scam designed to get recipients to reveal personal information.  Do not respond to such messages.

IT Services’ website offers information on how to identify phishing scams and examples of email scams

If you are uncertain of the authenticity of an email claiming to be from the Library, please ask us via Ask a Librarian.
