Microsoft Office Training for Law Students

A full day of Microsoft Office
training for Law Students will be held on Saturday, April 2nd, beginning at 9:00 AM in classroom V.  This program will give students the basic skills on MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) needed during summer employment and future work as an attorney. The program agenda is as follows;

  • 9:00 AM – 12:00 Noon
    • Introduction and Overview
    • Importance of MS Office Skills
    • Microsoft Word
      • Key concepts (show/hide, paragraph, sections)
      • Outlines and Master/Subdocuments
      • Styles and templates (form letters, resumes, etc.)
      • Mail merge
      • References (table of contents, table of authorities)
  • 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM 
    • Microsoft Excel
      • Spreadsheet fundamentals
      • Functions overview
      • Information management
      • Pivot tables
      • Linking to Word
    • Microsoft PowerPoint  
      • Presentation do’s and don’ts
      • Key concepts (layout, color schemes, handles, grids, guides)
      • Master pages
      • Slides shows, handouts, speaker notes
